How side quests work

Each week, we'll be presenting a side quest and prize. Anyone can win - over the next 5 weeks, we'll be giving away 200+ prizes including gift cards up to $20 and exciting swag.  Follow the instructions each week to complete the side quest and get your prize. At the end of the hackathon, we'll be awarding the most highly engaged hackers with our limited edition Dolby.io swag pack. Be sure to watch out for these weekly emails and keep up the participation!

Final Side Quest:

This week, Dolby.io challenges you to claim your location on Meet.Dolby.io (invite code: buildtheworld) 
It's a virtual land grab! Remember this location is one-of-a-kind and unique, and you'll want to claim the spot where your winning submission will reside. 
Once you've decided where you want to stake that claim, tell us why you choose that location.   Bonus for expanding on that though if you post a video sneak peek about your project. 

  1. Visit https://meet.dolby.io/map-navigator-app/#/ navigate to any free location on the map and click the hex; (invite code: buildtheworld) - you should see the Generic Meeting Demo. 
  2. Copy the link of that location from the address bar in your browser and paste that "Location URL" in the entry form below.
  3. Create a short video explaining your project and why you picked that location.  Tip: show a portion of your submission video, and voice over the why part. 

  4. Share that video to LinkedIn and/or Twitter. For the caption, you can post anything you’d like as long as it has the video and #buildtheworld #hackathon @dolbyio

    "I am building this cool hack with the Dolby.io Communications APIs! Let me explain why I picked this location. #buildtheworld #hackathon @dolbyio"

Cloudinary Side Quest Challenge

Difficulty: Medium

Estimated Time of Completion: 30 minutes

Challenge: Upload any image and add a text overlay with #buildtheworld #cloudinary on the image.

  1. Upload any image.
  2. Add #buildtheworld #cloudinary anywhere on the image
  3. Submit the new transformation URL

 The Grand Finale!

At the end of the hackathon, the most highly engaged individuals who completed the most side quests will be awarded a Dolby.io swag pack valued at $150. This swag pack includes a sweater, t-shirt, stickers, socks, and a cable bite.
